Wild Force Booster Box Japanese SV5K | Pokémon TCG

Released in Japan on January 26, 2024, Wild Force booster box (SV5K) is one of the two Japanese expansions that introduced the cards later incorporated into the international Temporal Forces release. It was launched alongside Cyber Judge (SV5M), giving collectors two very different themes: Ancient Pokémon in Wild Force and Future Pokémon in Cyber Judge.

The Wild Force booster box is particularly notable for its Ancient Paradox lineup. The expansion features three powerful Pokémon at the heart of its premium card selection: Raging Bolt ex, Gouging Fire ex and Walking Wake ex.

For collectors building a Japanese Scarlet & Violet collection, SV5K is an important release because it combines those Paradox Pokémon with the return of the ACE SPEC mechanic and a selection of illustrated Pokémon cards.

Wild Force booster box Raging Bolt ex Takes the Spotlight

Raging Bolt ex is one of the defining cards of SV5K.

The Pokémon receives several versions within the Japanese checklist, including a regular ex card and higher-rarity treatments. Its Special Art Rare version, numbered 095/071, is one of the cards collectors commonly associate with the expansion.

Gouging Fire ex and Walking Wake ex receive similar premium treatments, giving the set a trio of Ancient Paradox Pokémon to chase.

The higher-rarity checklist includes:

• Raging Bolt ex SAR — 095/071

• Gouging Fire ex SAR — 093/071

• Walking Wake ex SAR — 094/071

• Raging Bolt ex UR — 100/071

• Gouging Fire ex UR — 098/071

• Walking Wake ex UR — 099/071

The combination of these three Pokémon gives Wild Force a strong identity within the Scarlet & Violet era.

More Pokémon to Discover

The set isn’t limited to the three Ancient Paradox headliners.

Wild Force also includes Pokémon such as Torterra ex, Wugtrio ex, Gengar ex, Feraligatr, Flutter Mane, Palafin, Relicanth and Dudunsparce.

The Illustration Rare portion provides another reason to open the product. Cards featuring Pokémon such as Gastly, Minccino, Cinccino, Scream Tail, Larvitar and Shinx add a different style of artwork to the collection.

This mixture makes the box suitable for both collectors chasing premium cards and fans simply looking to expand a Japanese Pokémon collection.

A Significant Return for the Pokémon TCG

One of the less obvious reasons to remember SV5K is the return of ACE SPEC cards.

The mechanic had been absent from the Pokémon TCG for several years before returning during the Scarlet & Violet period. ACE SPEC cards have a special deck-building restriction, with players generally limited to one ACE SPEC card in a deck.

Wild Force includes cards such as Awakening Drum, Maximum Belt and Neo Upper Energy, making the set relevant not only from a collecting perspective but also from the history of the Pokémon TCG’s competitive mechanics.

Japanese SV5K Configuration

Unlike a High Class Pack such as Shiny Treasure ex, Wild Force uses the standard Japanese expansion format.

A sealed display contains:

30 booster packs

Each pack contains:

5 Japanese Pokémon cards

That gives the complete box 150 cards across 30 packs.

Because the cards are randomly inserted, purchasing a sealed box does not guarantee Raging Bolt ex, Gouging Fire ex, Walking Wake ex, a Special Art Rare or any other particular card.

Weight & Dimensions

For the physical product, measurements vary slightly depending on the retailer and measuring method.

The most useful product-specific measurements I found put the sealed display at approximately:

Weight: 300 g
Dimensions: 14 × 14 × 4 cm

For your WooCommerce product data, I’d enter:

Weight: 0.30 kg
Length: 14 cm
Width: 14 cm
Height: 4 cm

These are better than copying dimensions from another Pokémon expansion.

Why Wild Force Belongs in a Japanese Collection

SV5K occupies an interesting place in the Scarlet & Violet timeline. It arrived when Pokémon TCG was expanding the Ancient and Future Paradox concepts and simultaneously brought back a mechanic with a long history in competitive Pokémon.

The combination of Raging Bolt ex, Gouging Fire ex, Walking Wake ex, Illustration Rare cards and ACE SPEC cards gives the set several different collecting angles.

It also pairs naturally with SV5M Cyber Judge, the Future-focused Japanese release that launched alongside it.
