Mega Brave Booster Box Japanese M1L | Mega Lucario ex

The Mega Brave booster box is one of the two Japanese expansions that launched the modern Pokémon Card Game MEGA series. Released in Japan on August 1, 2025, M1L introduces a new generation of Mega Evolution Pokémon ex cards, with Mega Lucario ex serving as the set’s signature Pokémon. The official Pokémon Card Game website confirms the Japanese release date and five-card booster-pack configuration.

The Beginning of the MEGA Era

Mega Brave is not just another Japanese Pokémon expansion. It helped launch the MEGA era, bringing Mega Evolution back into the Pokémon TCG with new Mega Evolution ex cards.

The official Pokémon Card Game describes Mega Evolution as a further evolution beyond the normal limits of evolution, and Mega Brave is one of the first products built around this renewed mechanic.

For collectors, that makes a sealed M1L Mega Brave booster box an important early product from the modern Mega Evolution era.

Mega Lucario ex Leads M1L

The centerpiece of Mega Brave is Mega Lucario ex.

The official Pokémon Card Game database lists Mega Lucario ex as a Stage 1 Pokémon ex with 340 HP. Its attacks include Aura Jab and Mega Brave, giving the card a strong Fighting-type identity that fits Lucario’s established character.

Mega Lucario ex is also one of the major high-rarity chase cards collectors look for when opening M1L.

Other Mega Pokémon in Mega Brave

M1L isn’t built around Lucario alone.

The official expansion information highlights several Mega Evolution Pokémon appearing in Mega Brave, including:

• Mega Lucario ex

• Mega Venusaur ex

• Mega Absol ex

• Mega Mawile ex

• Mega Kangaskhan ex

These give the set a mixture of returning fan favorites and new Mega Evolution artwork.

Mega Venusaur ex

Another important Pokémon in M1L is Mega Venusaur ex.

The card gives collectors a new Mega Evolution version of one of the original Kanto starters and adds a strong Grass-type presence to the expansion.

Its inclusion also gives Mega Brave broader appeal among collectors who focus on the original Kanto Pokémon alongside newer Mega Evolution releases.

Mega Absol ex and Mega Mawile ex

Mega Brave also brings more unusual Mega Evolution choices into the set.

Mega Absol ex gives the expansion a darker, more aggressive Pokémon, while Mega Mawile ex adds another distinctive Mega Evolution design. The official Japanese product page specifically highlights both as part of the M1L lineup.

This variety is one of the strengths of Mega Brave: the set isn’t restricted to a single Pokémon type or generation.

Trainer Cards and the New MEGA Strategy

Mega Brave also introduces Trainer cards designed to support the new MEGA series.

One notable card is Lillie’s Determination, a Supporter that can return your hand to the deck and allow you to draw up to eight cards. Another is Mitsuru’s Kindness, which can fully heal one of your Mega Evolution ex Pokémon.

These cards reinforce the fact that Mega Brave isn’t purely a collector-focused release; the expansion was also designed around competitive Pokémon TCG play.

Connecting AR and SAR Artwork

One of the more creative features of the M1L and M1S expansions is their connected artwork.

The official Pokémon Card Game website shows AR and SAR cards designed to connect when placed next to one another, creating a larger full illustration across multiple cards.

This gives collectors another reason to pursue cards beyond the main Mega Evolution chase cards.

30 Japanese Booster Packs

A sealed Japanese Mega Brave M1L booster box contains:

• 30 booster packs

• 5 cards per pack

• 150 cards per box

The official Japanese Pokémon Card Game product information states that each pack contains five randomly inserted cards and that the Japanese release date was August 1, 2025.

Because the cards are randomly inserted, a sealed box does not guarantee Mega Lucario ex, a particular MUR, SAR, AR or any other individual card.

M1L Card Pool

Mega Brave contains 63 numbered cards, with secret-rarity cards taking the overall collectible card pool to 92 cards. Current M1L card references also identify rarities including AR, SAR, UR and MUR, giving collectors several levels of rarity to chase.

The higher-rarity lineup includes cards such as:

• Mega Lucario ex MUR

• Mega Lucario ex SAR

• Koraidon ex SAR

• Riolu AR

• Hyper Ball UR

This combination gives M1L considerable depth for collectors interested in both sealed products and individual Japanese cards.

Mega Brave and Mega Symphonia

M1L was released together with M1S Mega Symphonia.

The two sets form the opening pair of the Japanese Pokémon Card Game MEGA series:

M1L — Mega Brave
M1S — Mega Symphonia

Mega Brave places particular emphasis on Pokémon such as Mega Lucario ex, while Mega Symphonia features Mega Gardevoir ex. The official Pokémon Card Game website presents both expansions as the launch products of the new MEGA series.

For collectors building a complete opening-era Mega Evolution collection, having both Japanese booster boxes creates a natural paired display.

Japanese Factory-Sealed Pokémon Product

This listing is for the original Japanese M1L Mega Brave booster box.

The product contains:

• Japanese-language Pokémon cards

• 30 booster packs

• 5 cards per pack

• Factory-sealed packaging

• M1L Mega Brave expansion cards

The Japanese release date was August 1, 2025, with an official MSRP of ¥180 per booster pack.

Why Collect Mega Brave?

Mega Brave M1L has significance beyond its individual chase cards because it represents the beginning of a new Pokémon TCG era.

With Mega Lucario ex, Mega Venusaur ex, Mega Absol ex, Mega Mawile ex, connected AR/SAR artwork and the new Mega Evolution-focused card pool, the set combines nostalgia with the next stage of Pokémon TCG design.

For collectors looking for an early Japanese Mega Evolution booster box, M1L is one of the key products from the launch of the MEGA series.
