Pokémon S9 Star Birth Japanese Booster Box | Arceus VSTAR & Charizard

The Pokémon S9 Star Birth Japanese Booster Box is one of the defining releases from the later Sword & Shield era. Released in Japan in January 2022, Star Birth introduced the VSTAR mechanic to the Pokémon TCG and put two legendary Pokémon—Arceus and Charizard—at the center of the expansion.

Inside each factory-sealed display are 30 Japanese booster packs, with 5 cards in every pack. That gives collectors a full Japanese display containing 150 cards in total, with cards randomly packed at the factory.

The Set That Introduced VSTAR

Star Birth holds a particularly important place in the Sword & Shield timeline because it introduced the VSTAR mechanic. Arceus VSTAR, Charizard VSTAR and Shaymin VSTAR are among the notable VSTAR Pokémon associated with the set.
