Black Bolt Deluxe booster box sv11b Japanese

The Black Bolt Deluxe booster box is a special Japanese Pokémon TCG product built around the SV11B Black Bolt expansion. Released in Japan on June 6, 2025, this Deluxe format changes the usual booster-opening experience by using four oversized packs containing 35 cards each. Even more importantly for collectors, every Deluxe pack contains one guaranteed Art Rare (AR). The official Pokémon Card Game website confirms the product format, release date and AR guarantee.

Four Large Packs Instead of Twenty

A sealed Black Bolt Deluxe booster box contains:

• 4 Deluxe packs

• 35 cards in each pack

• 140 cards in total

• 1 Art Rare guaranteed per Deluxe pack

The cards themselves remain randomly inserted, so the AR guarantee does not mean that a particular Pokémon or specific rarity is guaranteed.

This is what separates the Deluxe version from the regular Japanese Black Bolt booster box. The standard product uses smaller seven-card packs, while the Deluxe version concentrates the same 140-card total into four much larger packs.

Zekrom ex Takes Center Stage

The defining Pokémon of Black Bolt SV11B is Zekrom.

One of the principal chase cards is Zekrom ex, including its distinctive Black White Rare (BWR) treatment. The BWR rarity was introduced specifically for the Black Bolt and White Flare releases, with Zekrom ex representing Black Bolt and Reshiram ex representing White Flare.

The dramatic black-and-white presentation of Zekrom ex fits the identity of SV11B and gives collectors a standout card to chase.

A Full Unova Celebration

Black Bolt is part of a much larger celebration of the Unova region.

The paired Black Bolt and White Flare expansions contain cards representing all 156 Pokémon originally discovered in Unova. Rather than focusing on only a few headline Pokémon, the project gives the entire Generation 5 Pokédex special treatment.

That makes SV11B particularly appealing to collectors who grew up with Pokémon Black and White or are working toward a complete Japanese Unova collection.

Every Unova Pokémon Gets Special Artwork

One of the most unusual aspects of the Black Bolt and White Flare project is the artwork treatment.

The official Pokémon Card Game information states that all 156 Unova Pokémon receive special illustration cards at AR or SAR rarity.

Black Bolt’s illustrated selection includes Pokémon such as:

• Zekrom

• Snivy

• Servine

• Serperior

• Victini

• Kyurem

• Eelektross

• Cobalion

• Reshiram-related Unova characters and Pokémon across the paired expansion

The result is a set that rewards collectors who enjoy individual Pokémon artwork rather than simply chasing the most expensive card.

The Black Bolt AR Selection

Black Bolt contains a number of Art Rare and Special Art Rare cards featuring Unova Pokémon.

The official card reveal highlights Snivy, Servine, Serperior and Victini among the AR/SAR cards associated with Black Bolt.

This is especially relevant to the Deluxe format because the AR guarantee applies to every one of its four packs.

You therefore have four separate guaranteed opportunities to receive an Art Rare when opening one sealed Deluxe box.

Zekrom ex BWR

For collectors focused on the highest-profile card, Zekrom ex BWR is the defining chase of Black Bolt.

The official Pokémon Card Game describes Zekrom ex’s BWR artwork as a design dominated by black tones, created to symbolize the Black Bolt expansion.

The BWR treatment also connects the Japanese SV11B and SV11W products thematically: Zekrom represents Black Bolt, while Reshiram represents White Flare.

This makes collecting both Deluxe products particularly attractive.

Special Mirror Cards

Black Bolt also includes special Poké Ball-pattern mirror cards.

These use a decorative mirror treatment rather than the standard card finish, creating another layer of variation for collectors working through the Japanese SV11B card pool. The official Pokémon Card Game website confirms that these special mirror cards are included in the Black Bolt and White Flare releases.

What You Actually Receive

The Black Bolt Deluxe booster box is not a normal 20-pack Japanese display.

The configuration is:

4 Deluxe packs × 35 cards = 140 cards

And each of those four packs has one AR card guaranteed.

A specific card remains random, however. Opening the box does not guarantee Zekrom ex, Zekrom ex BWR, a particular AR, SAR or any other individual card.

Black Bolt and White Flare Belong Together

SV11B was released alongside White Flare SV11W.

The two expansions were designed as a paired Unova celebration, with Zekrom and Black Bolt representing one side and Reshiram and White Flare representing the other.

The official Pokémon Card Game website also created a special Black Bolt & White Flare deck-building format using cards from both expansions, further emphasizing their connection.
